@codelancer @ryanaraine The exact country is of no importance. Pushing a 3rd party AV to clients without customer consent is 💩 In Juan’s defense: The foundations of UltraAV are from the Indian company Max Secure Software, which was acquired by Aura/Pango in 2022.

@ryanaraine Juan is speaking without even doing basic OSINT ? Calls a truly American company, backed by big VCs, exactly how you like it, an Indian newcomer? Let me enlighten you. Aura, just do a little googling and you’ll find everything. American for Americans, just as you wanted 🤷‍♂️

Oxford + UNSW Canberra Cyber put out a cybercrime index. The methodology was survey of experts (including some focus groups). Do I know *anyone* that participated in this survey? Not against lists on principle, just curious about methodological choices. journals.plos.org/plosone/articl…

23 years ago, I joined the Kaspersky team. Today, I am 46 and that makes it half my life dedicated to protecting the world. You probably know some of the research we did over the years in GReAT – looking back, I’m very proud of what we accomplished. It has been an incredible journey that has allowed me to meet and work with many amazing people. Time has come for me to look for new challenges – as I am stepping down from K, I am deeply grateful to my team, GReAT. To current and past GReATers, thank you for everything you’ve taught me. And to my friend and mentor, @e_kaspersky, thank you for believing in me! Looking forward, I want to spend more time working on some personal and global world challenges. Hope to meet some of you at conferences or online!

I’m deeply honored for the opportunity to address members of Colombia’s Congress on the formation of a civilian cyber agency rooted in a legal framework w congressional oversight, that inspires trust and collaboration, and not one formed under the shaky edifice of special powers.

@runasand @Hacker0x01 @Hacker0x01 added value and only reason of existence was trust. Now they lose trust from vendors and lose trust from hackers (ru/ua/bel rewards were stolen). Game over.

The protection of our communities, and in topics of ICS the literal protection of human life, is too important to have to be flowery and tip toe around every topic. But far more good happens behind the scenes than the public ever knows.

I think it’s important to provide candid, even critical, feedback on topics of national security. But I don’t ever want to imply that the various govt agencies and the people at them are not genuinely amazing human beings trying really hard to do good in often hard situations

@0xMatt But only if you ran a Russian embassy. Apparently the embassies of other countries never burn anything -- or at least it's not at all suspicious when they do
