@NW777777777 Yes, that was as a bit of a surprise to me. I understand why they took that route, but it certainly doesn’t make it right and they should know better. I think this is the first PR mistake and have many good things before that, so deserve an opportunity to be better going forward.

@daveoitfc I think the cover up is what broke the camels back, but I still think he should stay especially for stability reasons.

The cancel culture will be the thing that hurts this club, nothing else. There hasn’t been a truer moment of “careful what you wish for” #itfc

@YamYamKally Spot on. Political views will always be divisive, but this week has been a great micro example of how hard it is to have a sensible conversation on social media when the default position from some is to just shout people down or try and cancel people for mistakes.

One thing you can guarantee is extremes on social media. We stopped having convos and finding middle ground. Social media and algorithms are a cancer to our society. This Meta/Google lawsuit will hopefully force these platforms to change for the better. Anyway uppa towen #itfc

@NW777777777 Yes, what I was saying. Whatever the political leaning is, I don’t think we need to hound people out of jobs. If our leadership meet people of potential influence that’s up to them, but as you say, shouldn’t have unfolded like it did, as the association assumption is so volatile

@daveoitfc Private lunchs with politicians is different from what happened this week. If we get an explanation and apology we can all move on.

@NW777777777 I don’t disagree with that at all. Political parties turning up at different clubs and no doubt meeting leadership has been happening for years. This was handled badly by ITFC. We all make mistakes, surely a lesson learned and hopefully it never happens again is all it needs.

@daveoitfc The thing that hurt the club was allowing it in the first place. If it hadn’t of happened we’d be bored to death by the international break. Quite simple.

@JamiePinner Disappointing to read, if true. Got a lot of time for Blue Action and what they’re trying to achieve. I have no problem with the banners, but I did wonder about what conflict they cause when they stay across corporate paid advertising all game during a live broadcast.

@NW777777777 lol.. barely worth a response, because of the irony of it. So we’ll leave it at that, mate.

Everyone is using Claude right now. Very few founders are using it to drive real pipeline from LinkedIn. So I built a free resource with the exact Claude prompts I use to build full LinkedIn funnels… the same system behind the multiple clients we’ve generated over 6-figs for. Most people are using AI to write posts. Almost nobody is using it to build the actual infrastructure that turns LinkedIn into a lead machine. I’m sure I could sell these prompts in the future but for now they’re yours: Comment "Funnel" and I'll send it over. (You need to be following so I can DM it to you.)

@FootballLeagueW What a shit article this is. You’ve weaved it into click bait and only provided about 20% of how Simon actually framed it up, which to be fair, the full conversation was a decent conclusion by him.

@JohnSlaterITFC Azon starter every game from now on, unless tactical changes needed for different opponents. His improvement curve is massive and worth persevering with that imo. Hirst looks to be at his ceiling, which isn’t hate on the player, just what an eye test is looking like on the pitch.

❌ "I don't want to see a football club being leveraged by any politician!" 🤦‍♂️ "If it was a political party someone liked, there wouldn't be a backlash against it!" Simon Jordan has his say on the reaction to Nigel Farage and Reform UK's #ITFC stadium tour! 👀

@LesMuttons They’ll all be back. Usual shouty and over exaggerated behaviour when it’s behind a keyboard, lots of threats and cancel culture. Ironically, those are the ones that have given it air time. If they had just ignored it, the social post from Reform would have been worthless.

Genuine question after the carnage yesterday. Of all the people that said "I will not be back" or "I have cut up my season ticket"...how many of you will actually be there against Birmingham? #itfc

@janthonydean It’s a storm in a tea cup. Guarantee a stupid visit from a political party (consider that Keir Starmer did several around football clubs) will be forgotten. The work the club have done with the community is the real work that they actually associate with.

Town have just royally fucked everything they’ve worked so hard to achieve. Whether a naive oversight, genuine mistake, whatever it might be - this will stick with the club far longer than any good done sadly. Not a peep from Ashton either. #ITFC

SHOCKING: 99% of people using LinkedIn for outbound are barely scratching the surface. Right now, the entire internet is screaming "LinkedIn, LinkedIn, LinkedIn"... But here's the truth: sending random DMs without a system won't book 10 calls a day. To unlock its real power, you need to master: - Profile optimisation that gets inbound interest before you DM anyone - DM frameworks with 15%+ reply rates built in - A sell-by-chat structure that converts without pressure or pitching I spent 100+ hours building the most complete LinkedIn outbound playbook and compiled all 5 core modules plus 2 bonuses into one resource. I'll give it to only 1,000 people. To get it: 1. Follow me MUST (so I can DM) 2. Comment "PLAYBOOK" 3. I'll DM you the playbook If you don't follow or comment, you won't receive it.

@MickLum @IpswichTown Yes, X tends to be an echo chamber of moaners and keyboard warriors. When you speak to supporters at the games, pubs, trains, just out in general really - I hear much more reasoned and respectful conversations.

Following Monday’s visit by the Reform party and its leader, Nigel Farage, the club would like to issue the following statement: Ipswich Town Football Club has, over several years, hosted representatives from a range of political parties. The club remains apolitical and does not support or endorse any individual or party. The club will continue to engage with representatives from across the political spectrum as part of its role within the community. Ipswich Town is proud to be an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming organisation that supports all members of the local and wider community. This commitment remains unchanged.

@IpswichTown There is more division in the #ITFC fanbase this season than at any point since the takeover. Online bickering over transfers, players, management, tactics at a level unseen since Marcus Evans moved on And someone at the club thinks now is a good time to do something like this

@NW777777777 @ksnewberry @IpswichTown It’s not the club endorsing a political side though is it. However, I do agree that all football clubs should be careful that they don’t get drawn into unintentional optics when a 3rd party uses their brand in media.
