This is one of them! The Lord Archbishop is my Archbishop, a man of God, and I HOLD HIM IN PROFOUND RESPECT. This message raises serious concerns. Is he suggesting that some leaders have been silenced simply for questioning the powerful? True sacrificial leadership means doing what one believes is right and may not necessarily facing death, but at least sparking debate on issues of national importance. The church itself preaches servant leadership. Would it not be admirable for him to serve Ugandans by speaking out? Why then does he assume that speaking up may lead to his death?

Guys, a person called MODJADJI MAHLANGU - Consular officer at South African High Commission, in Kampala took passports of Ugandans who had applied for visas.
She locked their passports in her office and not even a single person at South African high commission, in Kampala can do anything.
Her office was locked yesterday and locked today, some of the passports holders were meant to travel for 2 oceans marathons, paid tickets, accommodations and the high commission in Kampala says they don’t know where she is.

For over 10 years, I have been a faithful reader of @Kalinaki’s Thursday article in the Daily Monitor. I rarely missed a single piece, save on those occasions when he chose to remain silent.
Few Ugandan writers have moved me as he has, his work consistently balancing enlightenment with sheer enjoyment.
I always walk away from every piece carrying something new.
I’m lucky that I shared the same space with DK, as we fondly called him for close to a decade.
DK wasn’t just a journalist. He was a guy you could walk up to, ask about anything, and leave with a handful. I called him my bunker for premium advertising ideas.
He was the guy I ran to every time I felt devoid of winning advertising concepts, and he always delivered without scratching his head.
As you walk out of the newsroom, I wish you all the best.
