Just yesterday, the first U.S. case of a new mpox strain was reported. The case is mild and well-contained, but underscores concerns expressed at #TropMed24 that the strain could cause a new global mpox outbreak. Read more: iamtropmed.org/blog/2024/11/1…

Good tests are key to any outbreak response. We are lucky to have #diagnostics available for #Mpox (check out the PDxRI here for more info: bit.ly/3SQ5zT2), but we need to know how well the tests work and how to increase access in areas that need them.
