There have been many scandals through the history of modern medicine. But none even come close to "gender-affirming care." Think about it: A political movement just conjured into existence a type of young person that defies every single thing known about child and adolescent development, demanded that this fictional patient cohort be pumped full of toxic unproven drugs in the complete absence scientific justification, then insisted that these innocent youth be ushered into the operating theatre to have healthy body parts needlessly lopped off. Extremists of this movement took over the leading professional association in the field (WPATH), set about creating garbage standards of care based on their unhinged ideology, infiltrated the Endocrine Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics and engaged in a conspiracy to manufacture scientific consensus for their despicable, unethical experiment. And every major medical association just went along with it! Fell for the stunt these crackpots pulled! Just accepted that a group of healthy kids needed to have their bodies destroyed because they possess a mystical inner gender essence, that these modern-day lobotomies are “medically necessary” and “life-saving” because a bunch of unhinged fanatics said so.

I see its now been confirmed that well known grifter and liar @david_wilcock is dead. I won't dance on his grave, but Wilcock was one of the worst purveyors of fake news and false saviors since at least the early 2000's. Went to a BBQ yesterday in Oshawa yesterday with mostly conservative-leaning folks. They're still angry about crime and immigration, but the one thing that kept coming up is cost of living. Summer vacations cancelled. Restaurants too $$. They all seem to blame one person: Trump.

@JoshDehaas When I say "Never met" I mean in real life. I think it's highly unlikely that 25% of the people who voted Conservative 1 year ago would vote differently. They already lost the tariff voters and those who believed that the USA was going to annex Canada PRIOR to the election.

Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. Union leadership often aligned with governments and public health messaging during the pandemic - ideology played a huge role. Many large unions also publicly supported vaccination campaigns and encouraged their members to get vaccinated. Once they took that position, it became difficult to later argue the mandates were based on falsehoods.
