This prosecutor's entire case was the witness he all but conceded is a disaster. This whole prosecution is a disgrace. The prosecution loses. The taxpayers lose. The defendant who has to endure this process, emotionally and financially, loses. The public's confidence in the DA's Office plummets even more than it already has after Karen Read and Sandra Birchmore. A full blown fiasco.

Farwell was the obvious prime suspect, based on his sexual abuse of a minor and his presence at the scene immediately before the victim was found dead. They missed and ignored electronic evidence. They catered to Farwell during the interview process. They ignored scientific and common sense facts which strongly suggested homicide rather than suicide. And their failure to seriously attempt to obtain a DNA sample (even through surreptitious means) from Farwell coupled with proof that his DNA was on the ligature is shocking. Just an epic failure.

Reuters confirms why I’ve been saying: the U.S. has been allowing fuel in to Cuban private businesses like foreign-operated hotels but barring it from hospitals and other publicly run institutions.
