Alabama prisons are more overcrowded today than at any point in the last decade. In 2019 @TheJusticeDept cited overcrowding as the #1 issue behind constitutional violations & sued AL in 2020. BTW, the new Gov. Kay Ivey mega-prison under construction doesn't address overcrowding.
