More has been than will be. As seen in The Dispatch, The Hill, Forbes, Modern War Institute...and of course: https://t.co/xTco8Io84x

I'll be honest. I had the same thought. The InfantryDort and friends circle jerk about how War Colleges and ROE lost the GWOT and the crash out about Tom Nichols is extra embarrassing with Iran running the table against Trump and Hesgeth.

My sour relationship with the media began in 2011, Kandahar. Some journo was shadowing me for a bit. We were in a tough spot in Zhari district. Had a hard time keeping the enemy at bay. And we brought like... every U.S. asset to bear on them. Boots on ground is gospel though. And we only had so many. Anywho we needed a way to limit enemy freedom of maneuver, so we built a wall. Yea yea yea we built a wall I don't wanna hear it. Was it the best idea? Probably? Probably not? Results were mixed BUT I DIGRESS. I didn't know how to interact with the media. The dude was trying to be all buddy buddy. I'd been in country almost a year so I let it ride. I was in my element as the chief of operations by that point. I finally felt like a duck in water in the HQ. Got my stride under me and such. So I really didn't filter my language because he was shadowing while the fight/wall build was going on. Long story short, I thought he was gonna say certain things in the article. He did not say those things. And he painted the effort as foolhardy while the boys and girls were down there trying to just get it done. All in all not a TERRIBLE piece by today's standards. But it still pissed me off. I asked him specifically to note certain things to tell the story of 2-502 and he just didn't. So yea, that's when I started disliking journalists. thetimes.com/comment/regist…

The American warfighter does not care about pronouns or diversity quotas. They care about the mission—and fighting for the warrior standing beside them.
