@doc_kristy @PhysicsJo @mrbakerphysics @DrWilkinsonSci A lot of schools split triple/higher level teaching between non-specialist teachers so one individual teacher maybe very confident in some units/topics and not in others. The kids get better teaching overall where individual teachers aren't completely confident.

Congratulations to Humza Yousaf, elected leader of the SNP and so to be next First Minister in Scotland. Born in Glasgow in 1985 to parents who came to Scotland from Pakistan and Kenya, Yousaf is the first Muslim politician elected to be a national leader in a western democracy.

#chemtwitter I made a set of foldables to help with retrieval practice of cation and anion tests, as well as flame tests, for CIE IGCSE Chemistry. Print on white card & cut on dashes lines. Is it the type of thing people would be interested in having a closer look at? @RSC_EiC

@MissGBiology @ocrexams Printed the resources and did the activity myself beforehand so I had a WAGOLL for them and I made a slides to accompany the task. Students were engaged and it's been a good tool moving onto develop their understanding of variation.

Had a great lesson today with Year 10 Biologists creating kittens! Using a brilliant resource from @ocrexams

@KJF239 @ocrexams Start is two phenotypically identical heterozygous parents and use dice rolls to randomly determine the alleles in the kitten genotype and then cut & stick together the correct phenotype. No two came out identical which has really reinforced idea of variation 👍
