Still sharing awesome stuff I find every day on @TutorGroupThink Interesting stuff for you to share with your tutor group or other classes. Share wide and make the (excessive) I spend on the internet worthwhile.

From British Gas. How should I reply......?!!!! ☹️ "We'd love to know more about your recent experience of receiving a bill. It would be really helpful if you can complete a quick survey about it for us."

Love tomorrow’s TGT. Did you know Kenya recently gave everyone a new national holiday and asked them to plant trees during it? I think that’s an amazing idea. bit.ly/TutorGroupThink

Tomorrow’s TGT is a little bit of cultural capital for your students. The 40th anniversary of the first showing of a ground-breaking music video. bit.ly/TutorGroupThink

' @cleapss and @rjpritchard The tale I tell to explain why we don't eat or drink in a lab, it's all about accidental ingestion and contamination, avoiding fingers near mouths and eyes...... 1/

Urmston is lovely. Manchester is just such a better city than anywhere in the UK. Glasgow close behind. Shame the weather is total shit in both cities.

@eddedmondson This is true of most rating systems now. Etsy sellers need to average 4.9/5 Uber drivers start getting hassled at 4.8/5 It’s nonsense. Red/amber/green would be far fairer and more transparent. No offence, but your -10 to 10 idea is bad. What’s the difference between 7 and 8?

The problem with running everything at maximum capacity to extract the greatest bang for your buck is that it guts the system of all flexibility.

Is it the algorithm or is edutwitter basically gone? All I see is personal stuff, companies promoting products and some journalism. As in discussions just not really happening now?

@EmathsUK @bennewmark So the solution to Musk trying to aggressively ruin this website is to spend time, on a regular basis, aggresively curating. Yeah, I think I'm just going to stick to Threads! Every time I've dropped in here over the last few weeks it's somehow worse.

@bennewmark …I’ve noticed after a couple of days, it can go back to madness, so need to keep up with the block / mute. This is a feature I’d never used before. I don’t block / mute any education folk, just mad adverts or people posting videos of cats or fights or other crap.

I am now old enough to have witnessed every single UK infrastructure project, from the Eurotunnel to Crossrail, being opposed only to open and promptly become essential

@MrKhairi_ Pretty much, especially in a school. At 9am you aren't about to get a dozen chunky emails, because (nearly) everyone is teaching. In a delayed recieve culture you might be about to get a deluge. Getting an email when you've just had the time you'd want to work on it is awful.

@MrKhairi_ Is it really empty, or is delayed receive (as it should be called) about to dump a load in there? In a delayed recieve heavy culture you never really know what the true state of your inbox is.
