If Bernie's 5% annual wealth tax on billionaires had been enacted in 2012, Elon Musk would be worth less than $365 billion instead of the $1.2 trillion that he's worth today. Elon would still be the wealthiest man alive & every family in America would have universal childcare.

Texas Tech has spoken. And now the Big 12 has to speak. By kicking them out of the conference immediately.

Texas Tech's actions in obtaining eligibility for Brendan Sorsby -- an athlete the NCAA declared permanently ineligible for extensive wagering on college sports, including games involving his own team -- have constituted a shameful chapter in the story of college football. If Texas Tech will not do the right thing, the Big 12 should. espn.com/college-footba…

@SenWarren What will that do for us? Enrich do-nothing NGOs and government employees like yourself. We sure as hell don’t need another tax. How about we drop the estate tax and then we can negotiate?

Elon Musk just became the world's first trillionaire. The typical American household would have to work more than 11 MILLION years to make Elon Musk's level of wealth. We need a wealth tax.

@RayCartwright What has Tech done wrong again? What NCAA or Big 12 rule have they broken? What law have not they not followed?

You're missing the point. The point of cancelling is for the greater good, not because Sorsby won't play. This is about taking a stand over something that everyone outside of Lubbock thinks is wrong.
PAC-12 Central@Pac12Central

Absolutely not. Oregon State has to face reality here. The other P4 teams have the liberty of canceling games against TTU. Oregon State does not. Home opener, Sell out crowd, on CBS. You don’t cancel that. Plus, he’s not even playing in the game.

@ChadBrendel Tech notified NCAA, etc and declared him ineligible as soon as they found out. This is common knowledge.

Isn't sports gambling illegal in Texas? Wouldn't sending money to a friend in a state it was legal to place bets constitute wire fraud? If Cincinnati should have known what was going on, shouldn't Tech be held to the same standard here? Food for thought...

@StewieGilchrist @FKANorm Read it again. He represents Texas Tech quarterback (these 3 preceding words function as an adjective) Brendan Sorsby. Kessler does not represent Texas Tech

@FKANorm Why else would he send a warning letter to the Big 12 detailing legal action TTU could take if punished? Just for shits and giggles?

So Texas Tech and Sorsby have the same lawyer and we are supposed to be believe that Sorsby went for the injunction completely on his own?

Justin Williams@Williams_Justin

Attorney Jeffrey Kessler, who represented Brendan Sorsby in his lawsuit vs the NCAA, has also sent a letter to the Big 12, obtained by @TheAthletic. It warns of potential legal action against the Big 12 if the league levies sanctions or punishments against Texas Tech or Sorsby.

@CFBKnights Sorsby got an injunction. Not Texas Tech. Then everyone started pointing their weapons at Tech. So yeah, Tech is now preparing to fight. Tech isn’t the bad guy here and we sure as hell aren’t patsies

I mean this is ridiculous man, my player has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA and we got a stupid injunction from a local judge if you guys try to impose any bylaws on us we’re going to sue you? This is absolutely ridiculous, they need to be humbled, Sorsby cannot play this year
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger

The Texas Attorney General sent a formal letter to the Big 12 today alerting the conference that Texas Tech would take action against any league sanction.

If Brandon Sorsby steps onto a CFB field again, the sport has lost all credibility. He found a local fan/judge who ruled in his favor. CFP should declare @RedRaiderSports ineligible for playoff and schools refuse to play them. I used to like Tech but they will be a pariah.

@BuffalOKstate At this point, we haven't done anything wrong. No laws broken. No rules broken. And everyone is mad at us and threatening us with b.s. This is a legal process we all have to follow but the guns are pointed at us. Okay...we fight!

Texas Tech fans, I have a serious question. Not trying to be sarcastic at all. I think Sorsby is good, but do you believe he’s good enough to be willing to die on this hill (if it really does get this far)? We’re not talking college Vince Young here or anything
Justin Williams@Williams_Justin

The office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sent a letter to the Big 12 on behalf of Texas Tech and obtained by @TheAthletic. It states that any sanctions against Texas Tech over the Brendan Sorsby situation would be treated as "unlawful" and would lead to legal action.

@Irish_Hammer_71 Agreed. And that's the rub. How will this playout on the legal front. All parties will have to follow the law...which is what Tech is trying to do.

Correct - Tech hasn't done anything wrong - yet. They are supporting their player and helping facilitate treatment and help for him, as they should. Currently the judge and Sorsby bear all the burden here. It's what happens in September that will determine TTU's onus - if any - in this.

Difference is this, though, Cody... There were consequences for what happened at Penn State. People got fired. People went to prison. There were actions taken and penalties levied. The NCAA tried to enforce THEIR rules, but if you get in front of the right judge, you can just do whatever you want apparently. Sorsby violated one of, if not the most absolute, do not do rules. Texas Tech has ZERO integrity if he steps on the football field this year, and personally I hope everyone on their schedule boycotts them. If not that, I hope the CFP committee leaves them out. Justice needs to prevail in this matter, one way or another.
Trey Wallace@TreyWallace

Cody Campbell calls out those threatening to boycott playing Texas Tech because of integrity He said teams have players with DUIs, woman abusers “I mean, nobody boycotted to play Penn State a few years ago when that horrible situation happened there” foxnews.com/outkick-sports…

@Irish_Hammer_71 I think it's a fair take you are impugning Tech here. Tech is in a tough spot and appears to be trying to handle it the right way. Talk of banning or blaming Tech is premature nonsense. Be mad at Sorsby. Tech will follow the rules and the law. Let’s see how it plays out legally.
