@repelfurb Yeh ofc , me personally I never got beat but still had fear of messing up in a good way. It works differently for different kids but I’m more so talking about the more extreme but still common beatings over a single mistake etc

@Azosc02 My take is a bit more nuanced. From experience, I mostly got leathered for mischief and discipline. In that kind of dynamic of ustaad to student a certain amount of fear can breed respect. How you choose to implement it is completely optional. Call me a bit more old school.
