@csavage I love, love, love hearing stories from your dad. I remember him telling me about Claude Shannon (who basically invented all of digital computing by showing circuits could perform logical functions) being on his thesis committee. As an MIT nerd, this literally blew my mind 🤯

My dad’s love of tech goes way back. + He co-founded and helped build the computer science department at Brown University + Was a relentless early adopter of new tech throughout my child. Bose Wave Radio on launch day, anyone? + Gave expert testimonial to Nintendo and delighted us when he brought home the NES directly from Japan! + Got pitched by Steve Jobs back in the NEXT days and may or may not be mentioned in his biography Through all of his work and explorations in the field, my dad taught me to look at the positive power of technology and think exponentially. He taught me that if you believe you can put the right things together and think long-term, you can build great things and propel significant change. I have him to thank for training me on this. This helps them (@netflix) keep their viewers more continuously engaged with their best content and also gives users a reason to stay perpetually subscribed. (7/7)

Rather than dropping a full season of one of their anchor shows all at once…they move to a model where they are releasing a “mini-movie” once a month which substantially contributes to the overall narrative arc…(6/7)

@jayacunzo @birbigs Sorry for your loss. My oldest met my grandma when she was a baby, about a year before my gm died at 94. We took pictures, and shes asked to see them over the years. She talks proudly about getting the chance to meet her even now when she's 13 yo. Those moments make a difference.

Just pulled the numbers, and over the last month, we've averaged over 4 hours of new content uploaded per minute to @wistia. This is a little less than 1% of what YT receives (as best we can tell). I would have never, ever thought we'd even be remotely close to their scale. 🤯
