The aviation summer season kicks off this Sunday. Glad to see the record number of routes from @LTairports this summer. Improved frequencies to major hubs like WAW (6x daily), CPH (up to 8x daily), FRA (3x daily), Helsinki (up to 5x daily), and Riga (new route from KUN).

.@airBaltic will start non-stop flights from Palanga to Tenerife airport on the 28th of October this year. This is the first scheduled intercontinental operation from Palanga :D I couldn't resist sharing this AI-generated poster promoting this beach-to-beach route :)

One more brand-new Ryanair hangar, suitable for 2 Boeing 737 MAX 10 (or MAX 8 or NG-800), is being built at Kaunas Airport. Opening this autumn.

One more shop outlet in Vilnius Airport landside check-in area: City Souvenirs, already open. The new departures terminal's commercial areas are now complete. Looking forward to reopening the old departures hall in June with a new airside shopping area and a new lounge.

We are testing hydrogen equipment in Kaunas Airport. A hydrogen truck is tested for snow removal and other aerodrome supervision works.

.@wizzair added a 4th weekly flight on the Vilnius-Tirana route for May (extra rotation on Sundays). Lithuania is a unique market where May, September and October are peak months for summer-sun. More Lithuanians go on vacation abroad in autumn or spring than in July or August.

During the summer peak month of August, @SAS plans to increase frequency on the Copenhagen-Palanga route to 3x daily. This is perfect news for Nordic people coming to Palanga for vacation. Also, better connectivity from the US with extremely short connection times in CPH.

From the 15th of May, @wizzair will add summer frequencies on three routes from Vilnius: Reykjavik, Nice, and Kutaisi. All to be operated 3x weekly. This summer, Wizz Air plans 70x weekly departures from Vilnius (10 rotations per day) using 3 based A321NEOs.

It's official. I'm gonna leave the @LTairports in July. It was and still is a pleasure and privilege to drive such an organisation. I'll keep you posted about aviation geeky things :D

🔴 Lufthansa Group just released its 2025 financials and the numbers tell a striking story. SWISS posted a 9.3% profit margin on €6.5B in revenue while Lufthansa mainline managed just 0.9% on €17.1B, making the group's flagship its least profitable member. Even Eurowings, Austrian, and Brussels all outperformed the mother brand. 772 passengers travelled to Vilnius Airport from Dubai and Abu Dhabi on non-stop flights (scheduled, chartered, repatriation, etc.) since 1st of March until today. 14 passengers travelled from Vilnius to Dubai non-stop. Flydubai continues direct scheduled services VNO-DXB.

We reached full height of multi-storey car park in Kaunas Airport. 900 extra spaces for car parking, opening this summer.

70 male, 80 female, 16 children and 4 infants safely landed in Vilnius Airport.

flydubai operates the flight from Dubai to Vilnius tonight. The flight will make a technical stop in Istanbul for refuelling, as the closed airspaces has extended the route.

@lithdoc @LTairports Yes, working on that. Just to be fair, KLM never flew to VNO; British Airways flew Vilnius from Gatwick. LOT doesn’t have anymore morning slots in overcrowded Warsaw :(

@simonasbartkus @LTairports 2x daily LHR please... More legacy carriers please. I know it's easier said than done but back in the day KLM, BA had flights to VNO. What about return of LOT to KUN?
