Hitler fired all of his top officers and then he sent the army to Russia. That brilliant decision cost Hitler the war. Hegseth has fired many of his best officers in order to send his troops on a similar suicide mission. He will get the same result. Only I don’t think Hegseth has the guts to do what Hitler did when he lost.

The Europeans are not dealing with “a man.” They are dealing with the United States of America. The United States needed the most innocuous kind of cooperation from them. They denied the United States that cooperation. The implied argument is that their obligations within our alliance depend on whether they like the guy we chose as our president. “Sure, we’re allies…if we approve of who you elected.” Nope. We are not going to forget, and we’re not going to forgive. I’m indifferent to their excuses or their rationalizations. The United States of America needed their help and not very much help. They turned us down. That changes everything. And they aren’t going to like how it changes everything.

Stop entertaining the notion that Trump would take the US out of NATO. Firstly it would require congressional action. Second, and most importantly, Putin would never allow Trump do this, as paralyzing the organization from within is much more valuable. A new "NATO" without the US, but with its own massive arms manufacturing capabilities, and with Ukraine at the core of it – now that is an idea worth pursuing.

Out of 10 men, 1 makes a sexual joke at a woman, 2 laugh, 3 fake a chuckle to fit in and 4 stay silent. None of them speak up. Later, 9 of them still believe they're the"good guys." But from the woman's perspective, the laughter, the silence, the looking away, it all creates the same environment. So when women say"most men are the same," this is what they mean: not that every man harasses women, but that most men help protect the system that does.
