In the final days of Jesus’ life, we witness betrayal, injustice, violence, and death. And yet, at the center of it all, we see something radically different: a God who refuses to meet violence with more violence.

Scripture reveals that the cross is not about reinforcing systems of harm—but about undoing them. It is where love triumphs over empire, and where God’s peace breaks into a violent world.

When Pope St. John Paul II warned against going to war in Iraq, I thought he was being naïve. And he did sometimes say things that were too close to pacifism. But his concern about the effects on civilian populations was prophetic. Overall, he was right and I was wrong.

Because of Trump – Medicaid in particular is hanging by a thread and healthcare is treated as a luxury. Healthcare is not a luxury – IT IS A RIGHT. My plan for healthcare focuses on addressing Trump’s Medicaid cuts, fixing the shortage of healthcare workers and ensuring they have the support they need, bringing care close to home, taking on the private equity companies that bring their shareholders into the doctors office, and lowering healthcare costs and expanding coverage. A little thought for Palm Sunday...
Think about the donkey that rode Jesus into Jerusalem that first Palm Sunday. People were lining the streets to see him. Shouting "Hosanna!" Waving their palm branches. That donkey might have started to think he was the star of the show. But the donkey had to learn the same thing we all have to learn. The glory is not ours. We're just the asses that get to carry Jesus.

I am troubled by Trump. But I’m even more troubled by the Christians who defend him.
Every time I hear @Franklin_Graham support Trump, I think of the words of his dad:
“I don’t want to see religious bigotry in any form… It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentalists and the political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it.” – Billy Graham
Follow Jesus. Not Trump.

As a Jew who studied Nazis, it pains me to see Israel behave as atrociously as any Nazi in 1930s Germany.

Welcome to Week 5 of 40 Days, 40 Ways.

In Genesis, when God creates the world, God calls it very good. Not just the trees, oceans, and animals individually—but the relationships between all of creation. The harmony between people, land, waters, and creatures is part of God’s good design.
Yet some versions of Christianity have taught that the earth doesn’t matter—that it will all burn anyway. But Scripture tells a different story. God is the artist, and creation is God’s masterpiece. We are called to steward it, not abandon it.
Our faith isn’t just about escaping the world someday. It’s about seeking God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
👉 Today’s invitation to ACT: Try a small creation-care practice this week. Consider reducing electricity use after sunset, spending time unplugged, or choosing one habit that lightens your footprint on the earth. Go fuel free for a week—bike, carpoool or walk
