@thclosetatheist @GroveCtyCollege I think that would put off questioning students. Bottom line, GCC is not for everyone. Would have been a terrible fit for DD2, even though she had the same budget as DD1 (which she met at public college venues)…Good luck to you!!

@tinykeyboard @GroveCtyCollege Most students love it there. I had a classmate once say it wasn't Christian ENOUGH for her (which sounded crazy to me but it's not as strict as other places). I think a required statement of faith could fix this because their target group would be clearer and could be catered to.

@thclosetatheist @GroveCtyCollege That’s too bad. Sorry you had a bad experience. For DD who attends, the opposite has been the case…religiosity not oppressive, great academics, wonderful experience, and she came for the same reasons as you…via public liberal HS.

@tinykeyboard @GroveCtyCollege I was drawn to GCC because of its affordable cost, rigorous academics, it was relatively small, in a good location, and it had a marching band. I figured the religiosity would balance out with all of the school’s good qualities but it didn't. The academics were also disappointing
