I totally agree that normie marriage is incredibly broken. But the original context of the post is regarding a highly religious, patriarchal community where marriage has more benefits for men. And the men in these communities generally don't believe in sex before marriage. So it seems their predicament boils down to whether the risks of pursuing women (not insignificant) outweigh the implications of not pursuing women and spending their life a virgin and alone (extremely significant). I'm sorry if this sounds insensitive to men's struggles. I'm just getting very frustrated seeing some wonderful young women at church spend week after week waiting to be approached.
