Surely it is required whether the stadium is full or empty for those 60 days per year when there is cricket, to maximise revenue for the other 300 when there isn’t.

@OutsideCricket Id consider Strauss, Atherton, Vaughan and Hussain firstly as former players and England captains rather than commentators. Remembering they came through from grass-roots to those positions.

People opposing Strauss' possible return to the ECB are suggesting Atherton, Hussain or even Vaughan as alternatives. This misses the point.
Commentators main skill is to talk plausibly about cricket. When hired in more hands-on roles, in all sports, they almost always fail.
