Currently, more than 80 nursing officer interns have been continuously frustrated by the lack of payment for a period of 6 months since their posting in mid-September 2022. We have faithfully rendered our services to the Kenyans and displayed utmost patience with @MOH_Kenya

However, we have not received a single cent from the employer six months down the line. We have been caught in a thick cloud of debts as we try to survive through another day.

Some of us have been evicted due to accumulated rent arrears, forced to live in deplorable conditions. The psychological toll of this issue cannot also be overemphasized as the once vibrant and enthusiastic graduates have been quickly turned into a stressed and frustrated lot

In a country pervasively implicated by the suboptimal provider-to-patient ratios, interns play a fundamental in bridging this chasm to ensure the quality of healthcare delivered is not jeopardized.
