Let’s make this thread a comprehensive list of Christmas movies. I’ll begin with the obvious reigning champ, It’s A Wonderful Life (1946), directed by Frank Capra. Critically panned on its release, the film has endured precisely because it wore its sentimentality on its sleeve. The reason I love the movie is mostly because it’s about overcoming despair, which is something we all seem to struggle with yearly during the holiday season. This year seems to be hitting extremely hard, but we must remember that it truly is a wonderful life.

Keith Gordon’s A Midnight Clear is an excellent Christmas movie, based on true events and shot by Tom Richmond, who also shot Killing Zoe.

@AVARY Renting Scrooged (1988) as a kid was always fun because it was a Christmas movie, but it was also kind of, well, adult (like something you'd watch on a movie channel without permission).

@AVARY I’ve never understood how this movie didn’t become more popular. After starring in back to school, Keith Gordon ended up becoming a pretty good director.
