Western / Secular Buddhist, Taoist, or philosophical / psychology only minded Pagans and amount of atheism they peddle is crazy. It's very Abrahamic in nature to push that other Gods don't exist. It has an underlying hint of subversive and manipulation by nature. (And yes most atheism as we know it is a reaction to or in the worldview of Abrahamic Monotheism.) When anyone adhering to some secular version of Dharma, Tao, or Paganism are met with historical facts or modern living practitioners they go into either full denial mode, or quickly abandon said faith.
