@CodeRed_dev thats literally all my friends when i show them my game
English

@CodeRed_dev And then you add a simple feature that's severely lacking from the million dollar production game and nobody notices 😅
English

@CodeRed_dev And they are correct if you price it that way. We're all on the open market and if your game doesn't have the correct price/value to it it will bomb; most people don't care who made it; they care about value the product has to them.
English

@CodeRed_dev You know when you see a face that looks uncannily like your own? Like it's from a parallel universe, and there can only be one...
I don't like this meme.
English

@CodeRed_dev My game get's compared to that all the time. When I ask "what would you pay for a game like this" the first thing that comes up is playtime.
And JUST because of the playtime I get valued at $3 by some playtesters
...#gamedev is hard...
English

@CodeRed_dev Game journalists be like
"yes! this indie game combines Final Fantasy with Megaman and Pokemon!"
English

@CodeRed_dev bruuuuhhhh the amount of times, mates have said "But you should make games like Red Dead 2, Tekken 7, MK11, GTA5" when I showed them my game, ahhhh I was dying inside
English

@CodeRed_dev Not to mention expect the same amount of staffing, support, hell... they expect us to have professional PR...
Anyone who knows me, knows... there is NOTHING professional about me and my PR... yeah... so...
English

@CodeRed_dev shaming corporations by comparing their AAA games to one-man programmers who create gaming masterpieces
English

@CodeRed_dev Literally was me making my first indie game lol
English

@CodeRed_dev I haven't worked on my game in a while because I'm patiently waiting for @yanako_rpgs to release updates for a game engine called MonMae. It will be worth the wait. 😁
English

@CodeRed_dev You should compare.
Indie game dev is about choosing the right things to cut and making the right "effort to returns" choices. For example, some art styles will compare well even when it's you vs 100-person team. Other styles...
English

@CodeRed_dev To be fair, a lot of indie devs do it to themselves when they market their game as "souls like" or other shameless comparisons which show that they don't have confidence in their idea. I don't like when either side does this. Is the art not able to be its unique, separate thing?
English

@CodeRed_dev You used bought assets to develop your game?
Let me complain about you not having money
English

@CodeRed_dev Fine by me, I don't care if it hurts a bit. 🤣
English

@CodeRed_dev No, nobody want to be a David fighting against Goliath in a fair battle.
English

@CodeRed_dev Joke's on him though, Indie games haven been know to wipe the floor with big publishers. Innovation always comes from indies.
Used to come from modders, but with the big guys locking down their engines, making it as hard as possible to properly mod. Indies took over!
English

@CodeRed_dev Every game gets compared to every other game though.
I'd be happy someone considered it enough to bother comparing it at all
English

@CodeRed_dev I feel like it's alright if the indie game is better than the AAA alternative
English

@CodeRed_dev I mean, that's what I'm already doing. "a top down turn based fantasy horror RPG"? Yeah I should totally compare this to Baldur's Gate 3 and Pathfinder Kingmaker before I even have anything beyond a vague concept.
English

@CodeRed_dev It do be like that sometimes
