I just feel like you don't need to put another engine down to show how cool yours is. Godot is cool btw I used it a few times.

@CodeRed_dev Well if you cannot accept that most engines are shit, then your place is #indiedev for 15 years doing the same lame game. Instead, you're welcomed to port our SNK Fighter plugin to Godot instead of bitching.

@CodeRed_dev Exactly, I’m an Unreal Guy myself, but I love a lot of aspects of many engines

I still love the Unity engine. It doesn't really get any exciting updates any more, but it's still a great tool to make great games with. Shame that the people who were thrilled to make this amazing tech are long gone, and the company got tunred upside down because of some inane public trading and bowing to the inane demands of investors who have their heads up their asses. But that's just the world we live in. Everything goes to shit because money men don't know WTF they're doing. But the industry is in the dirt now, so at least it's beyond obvious that there are issues. Maybe things get better, maybe they don't. It doesn't change our goals as gamedevs, we gotta put our heads down and make better games. Complaining any more at this point is just beating a dead horse.

@CodeRed_dev Its not the engine thats really the issue, Unity is fine, is the risk you take from using the engine due to the company that owns Unity. I get what you mean though.

@CodeRed_dev Yeah I’m a Godot Stan all day but it’s still a growing engine and Unity has decades now of knowledge and resources to compete with. Use what you can make games with is my approach.

@CodeRed_dev Godot does not have all the functionalities unity has. Cant easily port to consoles for one. It also has some pretty big limitations. They do tend to act like a cult too and if you use it gamers will avoid buying your game due to the political controversy a couple of years back

@CodeRed_dev I think you kinda do, because it's not like it unlocks new possibilities or does something revolutionary. It's mainly just an alternative that avoids some issues / annoyances of its competitors

@CodeRed_dev It's weird isn't it. I like Unity a lot, it does what I need it to do. For some reason I can happily use it and not be affected by all these strange reasons not to like it that I keep being told are such big issues by other people.
