@CodeRed_dev I think it's a Dunning Kruger sorta thing in that they actually do know a lot, but it's all such surface level stuff they picked up from marketing, that they have no idea how little they really know until they actually try doing it themselves.
@CodeRed_dev Gamers NEVER know jack shit about gamedev or engines or nothing in general sometimes they don t even know what they want to play or if they should play the game they are "fan" of
@CodeRed_dev Yeah. I always see comments towards gamedevs saying “you should add this feature” not realizing it would take months of work to add it.
Also the dismissiveness of games with lower fidelity graphics get handwaved away as something not worth their time. Thankfully that’s going away
@CodeRed_dev its really annoying, reminds me of the time people hyped up and thought rockstar made some super advanced AI for GTA 5's Driverless cars. (a.k.a cars with the driver model invisible)
@CodeRed_dev Quite honestly, most game devs know barely a jack, not necessarily shit, about game dev.
Meaningful knowledge can only come from experience, and will quite naturally be limited to the scope of this experience.
