If you are developing games and no one helps in testing it. It's so easy to start hating your game because you have no reassurance.

@CodeRed_dev It’s worse than reassurance you can’t even tell which bugs you have sometimes cause you’re just not gonna catch them all

@CodeRed_dev I've had a few friends play my game but how do you find people that will test the game.

@CodeRed_dev Currently at that stage. I just went to finish this last part and hand over to anyone who would test it 🫣

@CodeRed_dev It's pointless if no-one sees it. The end goal is bringing joy to people through creation. Creation is a rapidly evolving concept at the moment. It will pass, but some big names will have to do some really good gen AI content and tolerate the flak for that to happen.

@CodeRed_dev Also hard to know what's wrong about it, everytime I get people to try my games they play in ways that are way different than mine, which highlight new bugs and flaws that I would never have heard about otherwise.

@CodeRed_dev I've devoted one day a week, for my livestreams, for testing small developers new games, and providing feedback through the live, their steam pages, or direct email if that is an option.

Almost as bad, if you're enjoying it you start wondering, "Am I only enjoying this game and the features, because I'm taking satisfaction that they're made and done, not because it's actually fun?" And then you have people try your game and that affirms you, "Yes, it's actually garbage XD"

@CodeRed_dev we have a group of players that love independent games and a lot of them are aspiring game developers themselves. You can join our discord and we have an “other-games” channel you can share your stuff and we’ll share our community. You might find some friends and dev partners!

@CodeRed_dev Good advice. You don't know of anything actually works until you have people play it.

@CodeRed_dev It feels like there are more devs than players in today's market. Players are in 3 groups. 1. Playing forever games for a decade straight. 2. Playing their decades long backlog. 3. Playing whatever hotness flavor of the week from social media. Everyone else is fighting for scraps
