@CodifyBaseball @grok in the rules for challenging a pitch does the batter have 2 seconds to challenge after the pitch is caught or after the umpire makes their decision on whether it's a ball or strike. If the second option is true then the batter did it in the right amount of time right?
English

@CodifyBaseball It's got to be after the ump makes the call. If you're gonna take that long to call a strike with your hand the batter gets that amount of time too
English

@CodifyBaseball The explanation was that the SD bench was yelling to challenge. The rule is that you can't get information externally before a challenge.
That was definitely a strike, anyway.
English

@CodifyBaseball He taps before she even puts her hands down

@CodifyBaseball I think maybe he looked toward the on deck batter or dugout. You cant do that. Easy call if someone over there is complaining too.
English

@CodifyBaseball Umpires are doing this more and more. Its getting ridiculous
English

@CodifyBaseball The challenge has to be the first thing you do. He dropped the bat and started to take off his shin guard.
English

@CodifyBaseball Why can’t we fix this in season?
It’s such a simple fix and they refuse to address it.
English

@CodifyBaseball yeah no this has GOT to stop. even with ABS umps finding a way to be egotistical
English

@CodifyBaseball Rules states that you can’t make a move and then challenge. He dropped his bat and was going to take off gear so forfeited the challenge. By rule she was correct.
English

@CodifyBaseball Hunter Wendlestedt was doing this all night in the Tigers-Phillies game the other night. Delayed silent call, then refusing the challenge
