@CubeThe2nd I like the idea that Dess is simply influenced by the darkness around her (literal since her armor is completely black) and while still conscious and aware, isn't entirely in her right mind either Like The armor is a separate dark entity that melded itself onto her or something

@CubeThe2nd I agree that like straight up possession would take away dess’s agency and would kinda cheap because then it’s just a sock puppet and anyone can be that, but i think that dess mirroring kris in a way would still be interesting

@CubeThe2nd yeah yeah exactly, the reason i love spamton so much is because he just is a bad fucking guy, even with all the times he was in pain and taken advantage of, i think dess is exactly the same (maybe a bit more sympathetic, to varying degrees)

@CubeThe2nd Well it’s a very tricky situation, by all means carol is the knight, it’s explain most if not all of the logistics and planning, yet the knight itself is so damn weird. The real katana explains the sword but only the sword everything else is so weird for carol knight.

@CubeThe2nd If Dess is being controlled, its probably closer to a Kris situation where she has some ability to both suggest and interpret commands given.

@CubeThe2nd How tho? We literally don't even know what Dess looks like. There are a million reasons why her being the knight can happen. Possession, coersion, manipulation, or just being evil don't take away from her character. A character in which, barely exists lol.

@CubeThe2nd Exactly. I'm the type of dessknighter who WANTS her to know what she's doing. The Knight clearly has a conscience, it knows its plan and actions, having an evil mastermind villain for your game just to pull a "erm actually she wasn't aware of any of that" is straight up bs imo

@CubeThe2nd given the knight has likely always existed it creates a weird paradox where there was a knight before dess disappeared which raises the question of is she is the knight did she get fuckin gastered or something similar?

@CubeThe2nd proposing or believing a theory doesn't neccesarily mean you think the theory is cool or good writing plus honestly, a lot of dess knight variants need her to be controlled or something, especially if one believes she's the person in the code and is trapped there currently

@CubeThe2nd While I do prefer independent Dess Knight, the concept of a rebelious teenage girl being forced to become a husk of herself not having an option to choose her actions anymore IS a badass concept

@CubeThe2nd I fw takes where her perception is distorted to some degree. if she's made/filled with darkness now (dark appearance) and "too much darkness"=fiction, she might be seeing shit or having her worst impulses become manifest

@CubeThe2nd Actually, Dess being controlled being a direct parallel to us and Kris is unbelievably awesome actually. I don't think it's true but it's a neat concept.

@CubeThe2nd My personal theory is that “The Knight” is a separate entity from Dess that is in fact using her body. But Dess herself is still aware and is almost in a dreamlike state (given the conversations in the code). Dess is “in control” but something is with her basically.
