From what I remember I'm surprised they didn't lean more on Singh's subjective selection framework, too, which in many ways would constitute an improvement over neoclassical economics in taking subjective (including inaccurate) beliefs seriously without simply collapsing into the atheoretical/non-evolutionary heuristics and biases programme

@DavidPinsof There is plenty of copying with variation and selection in economics. There's a whole field that studies it from that perspective: evolutionary economics.
