I'm torn and not sure what to do, need some guidance. I think the YCS Richmond format isn't great for Artmage. I have VIP status for the event (2 round byes) but I don't think the deck is good enough to compete post banlist against the new Burst Protocol decks. The deck is highkey REALLY good for Genesys format though, so I'm debating not using my VIP for the main event and instead playing the Genesys event. UGH Idk what to do man... Maybe I keep cooking and find a way to make the deck work for advanced... I'm just so torn and lost man, someone knock some sense into me please (I refuse to play a deck other than Artmage rn).

@DistantCoder I think you should go Genesys the problem is that Genesys is legitimately so highrolly that idk if you'll have any fun at all

@DistantCoder Tbh, you’re the guy who got me to convince my bud to build artmage, so I’m a little biased there and that I’m a religious pet decker, I think it’d be cool for you to see how far artmage can go and how far you can go at that disadvantage, but ultimately? Do what’s fun for you

@DistantCoder Artmage doom z coder, you can even fit k9 in now with the limits. Doom z engine only requires the doom z patron the rank 4 rank 8 and the drasteus lvl 8 Ends on k9 board artmage board and drasteus to quick XYZ into the rank 8 and you CAN droll thru the trap or haveAngelica ring

@DistantCoder Artmage will definitely have an easier time in Genesys with the new support and no droll. 2 free byes is hard to pass up though. Do some BRPO testing against MST and Dracotail with Artmage and see how you feel.

@DistantCoder To be fair, artmage support is round the corner, probably a few months. It wont be as good for the genesys deck as the TCG deck, so you might be able to make Artmage work at a future YCS

@DistantCoder As a petdecker, play what you want to play in whatever you want to play, don't think about how bad it can go, believe in the cards you want to play so badly and why you chose to play it in the first place, doubt doesn't lead to success

@DistantCoder Enter the YCS and lose, you'll think you should've just played Genesys. Enter Genesys and lose, you'll think advanced wouldn't have been any better anyways. Genesys gives the best chance to win and the least regret if you do lose.

@DistantCoder Depends on if you’re playing to win the whole event or if you’re just going to have a good time. I’d personally go Genesys just because I’m having a lot of fun with it rn.

The Yugioh release schedule and banlist rotation is exhausting and miserable. If this were magic you would know the new format because they would have a big release event for the new set and you would get to play with those cards early access as a content creator. Using their premiere online simulator MTGArena. Because they aren’t Fucking racists who view westerners as subhuman cattle to be farmed with rarity bumps and bullshit staggered releases. I hate konami so Fucking much man. How long are you people going to accept The OCG and TCG not getting their shit together? They’ve had 25 years to catch the fuck up and they won’t. Because it’s profitable to exploit you like this. And you all just let them. Global release. Digital and paper. All recognized formats supported by the official simulator. Or tell konami to get fucked.

@DistantCoder Cook up a deck with artmage! While I haven't tested the dracotail mach up enough with the new fusion and a good secondary engine, you can definitely put up results! I have been having a lot of success with artmage branded personally! For a chalange play main for win play genys

@DistantCoder It depends what you are going there for Do you want to WIN or have fun? If the answer is have fun then it doesn’t matter what you pick because you enjoy the deck! But if your going there to win then you have to go with the format that best suits your deck

@DistantCoder Having faith in what your doing is a huge factor. Not beliving leads to misplays. Genesys is the safe option. But you are also a pioneer to artmage. I think at least trying a ycs would be in your best interest with the new format.

@DistantCoder From one friend to a parasocial other, the VIP doesnt mean much if your nit confident that deck you bring will take you far. Youll just get paired against people who are 2-0 and just start struggling. For your enjoyment of the weekend I think its best to go Genesys and have fun.

@DistantCoder I think that you should hypertest the deck for the new format and try many different strategies and cards and archetypes within the deck to see how far you can get and then make your decision from there. I think it sounds like you want to give up before you've even started.
