Let’s walk through how that courtroom drama plays out: Cheater: "Your Honor, Riot bricked my $6,000 PC!" Riot: "Actually, we just updated Vanguard to enforce standard Windows IOMMU security protocols. If they unplug the illegal hardware cheat device from their motherboard, the PC boots perfectly fine." Judge: "Wait, so your computer works, but your specialized cheating hardware doesn't?" Cheater: "Yes! It’s property damage!" Judge: [Bangs gavel so hard it breaks] "Case dismissed. Pay Riot's legal fees." You cannot sue a company because their security system successfully detected your exploit. Riot didn't destroy anything; they just rendered a cheating device useless for cheating. If you spent thousands of dollars on a DMA card just to click on heads in Valorant, your only legal recourse is to sue your parents for giving birth to someone so stupid.

@Pack_Rat_EWaste @ManaByte Not even the cheating devices got bricked. But they are basically uslelss to valorant cheaters now. Your cheating tool not working anymore cuz it gets blocked doesnt equal hardware damages.

Ok, so I do a lot of CAD for a living. Those files I create? I own them. They're my property. If someone nukes my computer hard enough that I have to reinstall(yes, I have backups, but that's not the point), They have destroyed my property. That my property is digital, does not make said property not real.

@Pack_Rat_EWaste @ManaByte No pc or files git nuked tho. Unplug the cheating device and the pc boots normally. Not installing 6000$ cheating hardware onto your pc wirh important files might also be a start. Legally you have no leg to stand on lol

@uniqueusernanme @Pack_Rat_EWaste @ManaByte Most cheating is done via software not hardware. If your PC is no longer accessible you cannot delete said software. Meaning the only way to do so is formatting windows, meaning all your files are going bye bye. So yes. Files are getting nuked

@Dom_Posts @uniqueusernanme @Pack_Rat_EWaste @ManaByte And this specific punishment is in reaction to hardware cheating (where most of val’s cheating comes from btw) If you just try to use cheat engine you will still get hit with the normal bans…

@uniqueusernanme @Pack_Rat_EWaste @ManaByte And yes people legally have a leg to stand on. The ONLY thing Riot legally have a right to enforce, is access to their games or games using their anticheat. Not access to your PC regardless of reason.
