@FirstSquawk I need a new refrigerator. I REFUSE to buy a new one right now. Not a money issue, its a quality issue. Appliances today suck. Period. They dont last, they have 'features' I never asked for and they are expensive. THAT is why. @WhirlpoolCorp make something WORTH buying.

@FirstSquawk I do think you’re underestimating the vast consumer frustration with “the modern appliance” as well. There is no excitement around stepping up to that next level washer anymore. People seem to want to revert to lo-fi button and dial versions.

@FirstSquawk I literally opted to buy a $40 part to fix my washing machine last night and avoided spending 1000s of dollars on new, unreliable crap.

@FirstSquawk If people aren’t buying homes or moving they aren’t buying washing machines. It’s not that big of a deal

@FirstSquawk Also check the cardboard. When cardboard demand increases, it means more companies are shipping their products due to higher consumer spending.

@FirstSquawk Consumer discretionary getting hit hard on appliance demand this weak suggests the wage-growth story is running out of gas faster than expected.
