@joannaccherry Your thread seems to be confusing the issue. The charges against Murrell have got nothing to do with the referendum donations as they were not directly embezzled. The Crown want people to think Murrells charges are in relations to fund raising appeals.

@GitUseless @joannaccherry What difference does it make which bank account the money came out of? Is it OK to steal SNP members ordinary donations but a crime to steal money meant for an independence referendum?

@Glen_Binnie @joannaccherry The difference is Sturgeon can claim she knew nothing about Murrell's embezzlement but cannot deny she knew the donations to referendum fund were being used to save SNP from bankruptcy and her from personal financial consequences of the same.

@GitUseless @Glen_Binnie @joannaccherry No, she can't. As party leader, she had legal obligations to safeguard party money, and so did Beattie. The level of incompetence that both of them would have had to have to not notice for over 12 years is simply unbelievable.
