🚨 A new Indian app is trying to capture Watsapp market. 'Arattai', from Zoho has recorded daily signups from 3,000 to 350,000 in just 3 days. Will it break the western monopoly and succeed?

@IndianTechGuide Unless Arattai offers some unique features that WhatsApp lacks, people won't abandon WhatsApp to shift here. Company needs to come up with something disruptive, like TikTok did with short videos. P.S. Just a suggestion, nothing against Arattai

@IndianTechGuide Saw a post that asked what unique feature does @Arattai have that separates it from Whatsapp. Option to have Online meetings with recording options. I don’t think WhatsApp has a record option for meeting.

@IndianTechGuide Hopefully, this doesn’t go the Koo way. It got publicity for many days, was widely downloaded but rarely used, and ultimately Koo had to shut down. While Zoho has the financial strength to sustain, it remains to be seen how it performs in the future.

For any app to be successful, you need one of two things: either a democracy like the USA, where freedom of speech is a fundamental right, or a system like China, where the government controls everything. @IndianTechGuide Arattai’s growth spurt is impressive - like a local chai stall suddenly serving Starbucks crowds. But breaking WhatsApp’s grip? But WhatsApp isn’t a villain you defeat in the first act-it’s the final boss with everyone’s family group chats hostage.

@IndianTechGuide Nope! Its almost impossible to replace whatsapp! Its too late! All our parents and grandparents parents are used to Whatsapp interface and they would not want to learn and get used to new app! So very less chance

भारत में असली दिक्कत ये नहीं कि हमारे पास ऐप्स नहीं हैं, दिक्कत है यूज़र्स का भरोसा, डेटा सिक्योरिटी और लगातार सपोर्ट। जब तक सरकार खुद डिजिटल स्वतंत्रता को मज़ाक बना कर लोगों का डेटा चुनावी खेल में लुटाती रहेगी, तब तक कोई भी ऐप वेस्टर्न कंपनियों से मुकाबला नहीं कर पाएगा। Zoho की कोशिश सराहनीय है।
