@IndianTechGuide Ashwini Vaishnaw is good at making reels and claims.
Running and improving railways is not his job.
English

@IndianTechGuide Indian Railways is so punctual,if you adjust your watch to Railway Standard Time
English

@IndianTechGuide Why always speak in general terms? Name specific countries so we can compare.
English

According to recent official data, Indian Railways' punctuality is around 85-90% for major mail/express trains (using a tolerance window). For comparison, leading European networks like Switzerland, Germany, or Japan often report figures above 92-95% (with a stricter 3-5 min tolerance). The progress made in India is impressive given the network's density and complexity, and sharing the specific study/data behind this comparison would be insightful.

🚨 BREAKING: “Indian Railways More Punctual Than Many European Nations,” Says Minister
Ashwini Vaishnaw tells Rajya Sabha punctuality has jumped to 80%, with 70 divisions crossing the 90% milestone.
New Delhi | Dec 6, 2025
Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday told the Rajya Sabha that Indian Railways’ overall punctuality has now touched 80%, a performance he said is better than several European countries. The minister credited strengthened maintenance practices and systematic operational upgrades for the improved efficiency.
During Question Hour, Vaishnaw highlighted that 70 railway divisions have surpassed 90% punctuality, marking one of the strongest performance phases in recent decades.
📌 Key Highlights From the Minister’s Statement
•Railways’ overall punctuality: 80%
•70 divisions have crossed 90% punctuality
•Indian Railways now performs better than many European nations in on-time operations
•Improved results attributed to maintenance reforms, technology upgrades, and systematic operations
Vaishnaw added that the focus remains on safety, timely approvals, and modernising key infrastructure.
🛤️ Budget Surge After 2014
Responding to queries, the minister said that railway investment in Uttar Pradesh and across India has seen historic expansion:
•Before 2014, only ₹100 crore was allocated
•Today, the budget has increased several times over, enabling large-scale upgrades
•Major projects include new tracks, electrification, stations, and signalling reforms
Vaishnaw said the boost was driven by the Prime Minister’s focus on transforming India’s rail network.
🚆 Ballia Station & Increased Train Services
The minister also informed the House that 82 train services are currently operated from Ballia station, which holds cultural and historical significance.
🌉 Focus on Bridges & Passenger Safety
To questions on underpasses and overpasses, Vaishnaw said:
•Over 100 new bridge designs have been created to speed up approvals
•Safety remains a top priority
•Railways is expanding under-bridges and over-bridges to reduce congestion and improve last-mile connectivity
🧭 What This Means
The minister’s remarks signal a broader shift in India’s railway operations:
•Punctuality is now comparable to advanced global systems
•Investment has surged to modernise infrastructure
•Safety mechanisms are being upgraded at scale
•Regional connectivity—especially in UP—is being strengthened
For passengers, this translates to fewer delays, better reliability, and faster expansion of services.

@IndianTechGuide Railway minister boasts about trains beating Europe on time while official data shows only around 80 percent punctuality and over one lakh services scrapped in five years due to poor planning and creaking assets.Stop the self praise and fix the rotten system.
English

@IndianTechGuide Yeah, they are very punctual that they reach the destination a day later. Don't send notification when the train is really late but send one every 5 minutes if it's half hour late. Don't even let the payment gateway charges and fees when the train is very late.
English

@IndianTechGuide People believe so much foreigners video that they troll our infrastructure. They want everything to be done within 10 years of government, but they will not say anything about the Congress of 60 years, what they have done.
People need to grow up
English

@IndianTechGuide A massive thanks to Deutsche Bahn for having such poor punctuality that it made the Indian Railways look like Switzerland.
English

@IndianTechGuide Yes sir he's the one who shamelessly stuck to his position instead of resignation after so many railway accidents he has zero accountability a shameless creature
English

@IndianTechGuide LOL. Why don't we have a public dashboard that shows all trains which are running late, which are on time etc?
Let's see what that data shows.
English

@IndianTechGuide What are statistics. Trains are slow. Over loaded. Waiting. Reservations not available. It’s 50 years behind any country worth comparing.
English

@IndianTechGuide What a shameless creature! Indian railways under Reel Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw are in shambles, not even a bit close to the European railways no matter whether it comes to cleanliness, maintenance, or punctuality.
English

@IndianTechGuide If you believe Indian Railways is more punctual than several European countries, then why not share a proper comparison of train timings between India and Europe? That would make the claim clearer. Reel banao..!
English

@IndianTechGuide Maxm Special Train delayed with no pantry services! Passengers are being charged extra for basic food & water. Essentials unavailable
Need to improve it
English

@IndianTechGuide Trains in India arrive on time… just not the day you’re travelling
English

@IndianTechGuide they aren't as bad as people like to say they are, in europe there are less number of trains and lesser passengers so they are less punctual on average, and in india counting the frequency of travelers and the trains are more punctual.
English

@IndianTechGuide @grok compare indian railway punctuality woth European countries
English

@IndianTechGuide @EU_Commission @BritishRailNews @BBCWorld Indian railway minister says many trains are not punctual in Europe? Is it true? and he says Indian railway is more punctual. Do you agree?
