It's Real Swadeshi Movement

@IndianTechGuide Growing numbers like these show India is steadily moving toward a cleaner and more sustainable mobility future.

Tata Motors hitting nearly 8,000 units is impressive, but the real story here is the narrowing gap. Mahindra’s 386% YoY growth shows that their ‘Born Electric’ strategy (BE 6, XEV 9e) is finally paying off.
Also, VinFast jumping to #4 in such a short time is a massive wake-up call for legacy players like Hyundai and Kia. The market is maturing fast!

@IndianTechGuide Tesla sold 37 EVs in India in Jan 2026.
That's not a sales figure, that's the number of people who accidentally clicked "buy" while trying to zoom in on the Cybertruck pic

@IndianTechGuide Tata dominating with 43% share is impressive! Tesla's tiny 37 units really shows how tough the import game is here. 🇮🇳🚗
English

@IndianTechGuide Everyone screaming “Tesla will dominate India” and it’s selling 37 cars while Tata moves 7,800+. India isn’t hype-driven. It’s price + service + trust. Foreign brands still don’t get this.
English

@IndianTechGuide Indian EV buyers didn’t ask for “world-class experience.”
They asked:
• Can it handle Indian roads?
• Is service nearby?
The sales chart answered the rest.

It’s sad that Tesla is still importing from China and faces high tariffs (pending the US-India deal finalisation with fine print and import from the US instead). Once that changes I expect numbers to improve. I hope Tata and Mahindra significantly up their quality game too. Hearing bad experiences on the battery and range performance

@IndianTechGuide i didnt knew rolls royce are also into electric now

English

@IndianTechGuide I thought Tesla would be there after Mahindra. Damn! Everything is hype in India. They only care about something that's affordable😂

@IndianTechGuide Desi brands are running the show. Tata, MG, Mahindra miles ahead, while global giants are still testing the waters.
