While being born Jewish into a 3,000 year existential life or death struggle can be stressful, at least it gives me something to *do*. So many people live lives without purpose or meaning these days. But for us, always having situations to monitor, threats to analyze, contingencies to prepare for, well, it means life is always exciting at least.

American Jews went about 50 or so years without being in survival mode and we almost assimilated ourselves into extinction. I think about that a lot.

@JacobL1994_ It also makes life boring, because you limit yourself to a specific conceptual framework that you need to 'fit' into reality, lest you accidentally venture into something else and no longer exist as distinctly 'Jew'

@JacobL1994_ Have you considered adjusting your behaviour so you dont always have to look over your shoulder? Decent people in society dont have to do such things, as they behave in a manner that avoids making so many enemies Or is it all because of irrational, unexplainable antisemitism?

@JacobL1994_ As annoying and unpleasant as it’s been, and boy has it, switching to full on survivalist nationalist mode has definitely brought a lot of fulfillment. And seeing the aimlessness around me even of people I thought were raised similarly really set the worldview straight
