Thanks to @shubhamm069, I don't have to use my keyboard nearly as much. Their version targets Windows, so I made a Linux version w/ configurable shortcut keys & option to auto paste transcribed text.
Was using python & whisper, but this way more efficient

As I said, I f*ckin love Rust. Model: NVIDIA Parakeet 0.6B Quantized it down to 8-bit, switched from PyTorch (python) to ONNX (rust) and Multithreaded on CPU. Finishes LONG recording (of hours) on run time, with overhead being ~1 seconds. Wayyy more accurate than whisper models. No GPU tricks. No cloud dependency. (repo and blog link in comment)
