Having the capacity to shoot in the low 60s anywhere you show up but to also not be anywhere near the tour is an incredible thing in pro golf… there are SO MANY dudes who could win who never sniff the PGA Tour

@MMGOLFSTUDIOS Honest ignorant question. What’s the biggest missing ingredient for these guys?

@Neely1751 I don’t like to say it this way but I don’t know of a better explanation… Luck. It’s not that the guys who got there are just lucky, they’re all incredibly skilled and worked their asses off, but to play great at the right time is somewhat lucky.

@MMGOLFSTUDIOS I can see exactly what you’re saying, and I’d like your opinion on mindsets under the gun when the hands get sweaty.

@Neely1751 Not the top top guys, but there are some great players who just didn’t play quite good enough in their few opportunities to get a spot. Example: a friend of mine won 2 events in a row, then came in 31st. Won $0 and barely got any starts out of it. It was 3 stages of Q school

@MMGOLFSTUDIOS @Neely1751 Luck is part of it. Also think a skill that the elite guys have is to be able to think clearly under pressure, tune everything else out except the shot they are about to hit, and execute. That is a huge separator.

@MMGOLFSTUDIOS @Neely1751 Q School is at an incredibly tough course While skill is huge I agree that even the most talented players can catch the opportunity at the wrong time Buddy was a Web.com player and couldn't catch a break. Got bad vertigo and it cost him a card his season

I respectfully disagree. Some guys are just not comfortable under the gun. They can have all the talent in the world but it takes a certain combination of personality and talent to play your best when it matters. Which can actually come in different forms ironically. No one formula.
