In light of massive Anthropic revenue growth and enterprises’ desire to cut token spending, OpenAI is considering lowering prices across all its models. If OpenAI significantly cuts prices, it could eat into both Anthropic’s enterprise share and both labs’ profit margins.

Anthropic will lease its own data centers for the first time rather than leasing capacity from AWS and Google Cloud. Anthropic has committed to spending at least $30B on Microsoft, $100B on Amazon, and approximately $200B on Google. This would give Anthropic more control over its compute supply chain, but would require it to acquire its own equipment rather than relying on a cloud provider. Google may provide a financial guarantee for Anthropic’s lease payments.

@MTSlive So you're telling me that OpenAI literally can't compete in terms of model quality, so they're going to make there models so cheap they're more attractive? I think I still choose the intelligent model personally.

@MTSlive It’s unlikely that in short order they could temp an enterprise with processes, procedures and institutional knowledge of Anthropic to move to OpenAI. They would have more success with new business.
