This is the kind of statement that the Peradeniya Students Union would make about this issue. Now you know what they mean when they use words like “oppression,” “suppression,” and “repression.”

@kulanthisilva This is the kind of higher education need in this country. We need to get jvp/malima politics completely out of public education institutes

@Neetwit @kulanthisilva You do realize that strict dress code & clean shaven/hair brushed is the basic starting point of ragging in state unis right? 🙄

@Neetwit @kulanthisilva Yes, who needs the future generation to think, explore debate, experiment and learn..... So you can have sex, get married, drink alcohol and vote by university age but you are going to tell them how to dress etc..! 🤣

@Neetwit @kulanthisilva Sounds like a production line for prim and proper criminals who are qualified to get away from any and every form of crime. That’s one heck of a way of describing what a perfect criminal would look like, since they all love to go unnoticed. 🙄🤫

@Neetwit @kulanthisilva Other than the 'No Ragging' bit, this sounds like a nightmare. Do we want pliant robots or creative, innovative people capable of critical thinking, ready to stand up for what they believe in and make necessary change in this world?

@Neetwit @kulanthisilva What does "JVP/Malima politics" has to do with public education institutes? And aren't then students entitled to their own political opinions? Would you rather have them be UNP or whatever the other thing is called? Or something else?

@Neetwit @kulanthisilva First they should charge them a nominal fee for their university education. When they have to pay, all this ragging and strikes will stop. Too many rules will kill creativity. Uni life should be enjoyed. They are adults and should be responsible citizens.

@Neetwit @kulanthisilva This is a picture of a law enforcement or military training establishment. We need critical thinking, freedom to express, with intellectual discipline, commitment to studies from our higher education system. Not this.

Kaushila ෴ Be the change you want to see
@Neetwit @kulanthisilva 1) Universities in the world must develop revolutionists not conformists. Only difference in developed world is students do not need to go on strike and walk on roads to win their rights. But when ever the need comes universities are meant to make leaders to change society.

@Neetwit @kulanthisilva This discipline is needed in the whole country. All raggers are terrorists and must be locked up under the PTA. The vastness of the economic, mental, physical, societal, and educational damage they do, combined with their Marxism that has nuked every economy it ever touched is ☠️
