It is notable that one of the most pronounced differences between Ukraine and the USA is that while both have corruption problems, the Ukr are investigating theirs up to the highest levels of govt, while the US govt is openly fostering more corruption.

The difference is that NATO countries will cut back on aid if a lot of it ends up enriching Ukrainian elites... plus, Zelenskyy himself is not in it for the money. Trump considers himself to be unaccountable to anyone, not even SCOTUS who rarely stand up to him - its really no different than his businesses, and others around him also want to get their beaks wet, or don't care, or are willing to look the other way.
