In February 2015 I attended a semi secret luncheon upstairs at the iconic 21 club in NY. It was thrown by Senator Lindsey Graham who was testing the waters for a potential 2016 presidential run. Also in attendance was Sheldon Adelson the fabulously, wealthy political operator. Graham made sense, middle of the road, compassionate and knowledgeable, although his tone of moderation evaporated over time. He became the quickest trigger finger in D C, never meeting a war he didn’t like. Still, he was smart, patriotic and loyal to the end.

Why, because he talked tough about murdering people? He was trying to hide his gayness. A simple search found many instances of him supporting liberal causes: Confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor (2009): He was the only Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee to vote in favor of confirming Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court. Confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson (2022): He was one of three Republican senators who voted in favor of confirming Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. The Respect for Marriage Act (2022): He supported and voted for legislation that codified federal protections for same-sex marriage. Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (2022). He voted for this major gun control legislation, which expanded background checks for buyers under 21 and provided funding for state "red flag" laws. Immigration Reform (2006 & 2013): He collaborated extensively with Democrats—most notably the late Senator Ted Kennedy and Senator Chuck Schumer—on comprehensive immigration reform packages that included pathways to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. Climate and Energy Legislation (2010): He partnered with Democratic Senators John Kerry and Joe Lieberman to author major cap-and-trade and energy independence legislation. He also supported Obama-era methane emissions regulations There are hundreds more. He was a POS liberal and didn’t hide it… his love for death is a liberal position as well. Liberals love to murder. Wars. Americans on the streets of America. In abortion clinics. Supporters of allowing suicide. Pro-drugs. Liberals are murderous scum.

@RobInSpringTx @GeraldoRivera He voted against KBJ and the Defense of Marriage Act. He voted with Trump 86.4% in the first term and 100% in the second. 87% with GWB. And all these wars are conservative priorities. You are way off base.

There was a time when Russia was our greatest threat. Over time, things changed. Sanctions against Russia resulted in the rusting out of their military. China rose to be a bigger threat to both the USA and China. But the neocons still wanted to see Russia destroyed in their lifetimes so they pushed a war between Ukraine as a proxy against Russia. That forced Russia into Chinas arms when we should have been looking to ally with Russia against China.
