@feelsdesperate It's funny how teachers have zero impact on education outcomes. You can predict with 95% certainty how a kid will perform through K-12 by the end of their 1st year. I'm amazed we pay them anything above minimum wage, because they obviously don't deserve it.

What Elon has offered to cover… ~65,000 TSA Employees. Average weekly gross pay is ~$1,000 per employee. Add in benefits and total taxpayer cost is ~$155 million per week. I never want to hear another Leftist talk about Elon’s money and what he should do with it ever again.

Yeah, I get what you're saying and it's complex. I think we need a solution to accomplish two things: 1) ensure only citizens vote 2) reduce the friction to vote so you maximize the number of people in 1 above, on all sides of the aisle. You're right that any friction to vote keeps people from voting; thus mail-in ballots. I used them for years and only went in person this past election cycle. They tried to make it more convenient with early voting but that still causes issues for some people. So you do some mix of: 1) give people a day or two paid holiday to go vote in person 2) serial number all mail-in ballots so it is unique to each citizen (I'm sure there are some complexities that would need to be worked out) 3) web-based voting—I enter my driver's license, SSN, etc. that is unique to me. Maybe use blockchain tech. The technology exists to do 2 or 3; it's just weird to me our country hasn’t done them yet like other countries. Both of these options allow the ease of voting while still eliminating or reducing fraud. I literally want as many citizens, Democrats and Republicans, to vote. It should almost be law you have to vote or submit that “I recuse myself.”

@wisdomforbattle @SenFettermanPA No, I understood. But the goal isn't to combat fraud. Republicans benefit from voter suppression. Turnout usually favors Democrats and especially in midterms when a Republican is president. The point is to make it more difficult for people to vote.

I think if you remove mail-in ballots, you HAVE to make Election Day a national holiday to give people time to vote. Otherwise, many wouldn’t be able to go due to work, regardless of early voting opportunities.

Appreciate you having some common sense, man. Let’s just get you over the mail-in ballot hump. I think a lot of people see it as a convenience thing, and they don’t want to be bothered going to the site to vote. With that being said, I bet most Americans would love to do it if voting day was a national holiday so you had time to go. God bless.
