This is Senator @AnnaMKaplan. Democratic lawmaker in NY. Claims she cares about "common-sense" policies on mental health & substance use. What she apparently thinks "common-sense" means: Caging even more people than the 1000s already caged for mental health & substance use.

I’ve long advocated for common-sense changes that address public safety concerns and deal with issues around mental health and substance abuse. I support @GovKathyHochul’s 10 point plan to deal with these issues and will continue to advocate for these necessary improvements.

@ScottHech @AnnaMKaplan there’s a serious public health issue & associated corruption in #Nassau - associated with several high profile Democrats - @AnnaMKaplan office was notified last month as was the NYS Senate Judiciary Committee - to date no action

@ScottHech @AnnaMKaplan Well if more people break the law and deserve to be caged - which everything points to being the case - why shouldn't we cage them? It doesn't matter how many are caged, or the conditions of the jails - you break the law, you make time and rethink your life choices, period.
