This #GovernmentShutdown impacts real people, with real stories, and real lives. Yesterday I had the opportunity to join a group of federal workers, many of them veterans, along with @RepAndyLevin & @RepDebDingell, to hear their stories. I wanted to share some with all of you:

We heard from many @TSA employees who detailed their struggles to make ends meet: Jennifer said a coworker was deciding between the cost of transportation to work & her insulin. Wanavia, a veteran, said she took her children to a foodbank to supplement grocery costs.

@RepSlotkin @RepAndyLevin @RepDebDingell Time would have been better spent working on funding to secure our border. How much time have you spent meeting with Angel Parents. Their children aren't worrying about anything because they are dead.

@RepSlotkin @RepAndyLevin @RepDebDingell Also a leaky border impacts peoples lives as well from the standpoint of life and death....law enforcement has suffered death of their officers as well as the loved ones who have died due to allowing criminals across the border. We have enough of our own criminals. Help the Pres
