The President is clearly focused on a handful of states that he says have problems in our elections, including Michigan.
Michigan has free and fair elections. We are a swing state. We know how to do this. It's very important that we understand what the President is trying to do in writing this narrative ahead of the November elections.

Because of the Canadian wildfires, Michigan has some of the worst air quality in the world right now. Michiganders, especially seniors, children and people with asthma should take precautions.

At the State of the Union, President Trump declared that the only way Democrats could win in the midterms is if they cheat.
Since then, he has attempted to seize ballots, sued 30 states for their voter rolls, dismantled the Election Assistance Commission, and pushed to pass the SAVE Act which would disenfranchise millions of voters across the country.
We cannot allow this type of corruption to become normalized.

Bill Pulte has zero national security experience, but right now he heads up 18 different intelligence agencies.
Power in the wrong hands can be used against the American People. That’s why I introduced the MERIT Act, a bill requiring anyone serving as the director of national intelligence to have extensive national security experience.
It’s common sense.

Today, I’m introducing the MERIT Act — the Minimum Experience Requirements for Intelligence Transition Act. This comes as Bill Pulte serves as Acting DNI, and ahead of President Trump’s address on elections this evening.
We must ensure that people who serve as the acting Director of National Intelligence actually have some national security experience needed to do this job, and treat it responsibly. Not on behalf of one party, not on behalf of one man, but on behalf of Americans to keep us safe.

This year @SenGaryPeters and I again helped bring a little Michigan pride to Washington, D.C., at the U.S. Capitol to celebrate National Hot Dog Day. We put out the call for Michiganders (and friends) to show up, and boy did they!
We prepared 1000 (!) hot dogs and chili so folks could have coney dogs and we were well supplied with Vernors, ice-cream, cherry-flavored snacks of all kinds from @CherryRepublic and @BenjaminTwiggs, Short's Beer, and Espresso Bay Coffee.
We appreciate our chambers of commerce who helped put together this event, including Connect Macomb, Traverse Connect, and the West Michigan Chamber.
See you next year!

During Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche's testimony today, he said the anti-weaponization fund is dead. "Frankly, actions speak louder than words," Senator Elissa Slotkin tells me on whether she believes him.
Blanche was Deputy Attorney General as prosecutors tried to indict Slotkin and other members of Congress after they urged service members to disobey illegal orders.
