When I was in San Francisco earlier this month, I took a Waymo for the first time — and got very, very cross that we don’t have them in London yet. I wrote about my gripes (and how to fix this) for the Greater London Project:

There’s basically no good reason why we don’t have self-driving cars on our streets still. All the excuses people give are nonsensical (and often flatly false). The technology is ready — and safe. The government just needs to get its act together.
