In a really interesting opinion piece for Transformer, Jess Miers and Ray Yeh argue that increased liability for chatbots could backfire.
Such laws could encourage blunt responses when people bring up mental health issues — the exact opposite of what's needed.
And they would likely prevent chatbots from providing *useful* mental health services — which they absolutely can do.
