The fact that patients cannot call their GP surgery at any time other than 8.00am - and then have to hold the line for God knows how long - simply in order to book an appointment is genuinely a national scandal. Imagine having to do the same when booking a car service or haircut!

@PaulEmbery The difference being that the garage or hairdressers don't already have your money and are keen to get your business. You call the shots as a paying customer. The NHS already has your money so they'd rather you didn't turn up.If you do,it's "get what you're given and be grateful"

The system is at breaking point due to 12 years of Tory mismanagement, poor staff recruitment, low wages, insufficient funding and deliberate running down to open the door to private health-62% of US bankruptcies are due to medical debt. Have you seen how many people set up gofundme accounts to pay medical bills? I've lived through private medical insurance and Medicaid.... The NHS is amazing &

@MJW45 @__Chris_J @PaulEmbery if the government would find it properly (like they said they would ) then it would be a well oiled machine!! It says a lot when nurses are using food banks and there's no more funding for people to become nurses. The govt is killing the NHS off as quickly as it can!
